If you're anything like me, when you're out wine shopping, a lot of times you don't just buy one bottle. You buy two or three, or even a full case!
The Alexa skill has let you add multiple bottles for a while now. Try it - "Add three bottles of 2018 Apothic Red" - but on the web, you had to add each bottle separately.
I'm pleased to announce that we have (finally) fixed this!
Now, when adding a new bottle from your Inventory, you have the option to add multiple bottles, up to a full case.
If you don't see the new option, make sure to refresh the page or clear your browser history.

It's been one of our most frequent questions: Can I ask Alexa what's in my inventory?
Up to now, the only way to view your inventory is to come to the website.
No longer! Starting today, just ask "Do I have any pinot?"
Alexa will look through your inventory and intelligently respond.
It works with all data types, too. Try "What Meiomi do I have?", "How much cabernet is in my wine cellar?", or even combinations like "How many bottles of Silver Oak cabernet do I have?"
Try it out, and keep the feedback coming!
As many of you have pointed out, the biggest problem with The Wine Cellar is voice recognition. Alexa has trouble understanding sometimes, especially with all of the unique words in the world of wine.
Last year, we made significant improvements in Alexa's pronunciation, but recognition was still a challenge.
Today, we're excited to announce a major new release! Starting today, Alexa's ability to recognize wine names has been overhauled to be much more effective.
And even better, Alexa will now learn from you! If she enters something wrong, just correct it on your VIEW INVENTORY page as you always have. But now, Alexa will see those changes, and won't make that mistake again!
This is one of the biggest improvements we've made since launching The Wine Cellar, and we're excited to share it with all of you! Try it out!
After much trial and error, we are proud to announce that Alexa now pronounces many wine terms correctly!
Now, words like "sauvignon," "chardonnay," and "chateau" sound much more normal.
If there are still words that Alexa does not pronounce correctly, let us know!
I am excited to announce our latest feature enhancement -- you can now make inventory adjustments directly on the Inventory page!
When viewing your inventory, use the button to update a bottle, or remove it altogether.
Or click Add Bottle to add a new bottle to your inventory, directly from the page.
Using the Alexa Skill is still the best way to manage your inventory. Doing it in the moment is the easiest by far! Today's update gives you one more way to keep your inventory up to date.

What is The Wine Cellar?
The Wine Cellar is the easiest way to manage your wine — by voice! Use Amazon Alexa to add and remove bottles, and our modern web app to see what you have.
What do I say?
We designed The Wine Cellar to let you speak naturally. Try these phrases:
How do I get started?
Just enable the Alexa skill, follow the prompts to add some bottles, and then come back here to view your inventory. Click here for details.
Since releasing The Wine Cellar two months ago, we've put a lot of work into making the skill more conversational.
We like to think of it like we're talking to a person, not a computer. So many Alexa skills fail this test, and make you say very specific, robotic things. "Alexa, turn the kitchen lights to 50." Nobody in real life says that, so why do we have to say it to our voice assistants?
With this update, we focused a lot on making Alexa respond to how people really talk. Now, in addition to "Alexa, open The Wine Cellar and add a bottle of...", say "Alexa, tell The Wine Cellar I bought a case of..." Or, "Alexa, tell The Wine Cellar I'm drinking some..."
How else can we make it better? Let us know!
I made a thing - announcing The Wine Cellar!
The Wine Cellar is an Alexa skill that lets you keep track of your wine inventory by voice. Many people need to keep an accurate inventory - for insurance, for investment, or just for fun. But it's easy to fall behind, and hard to catch up when you do! With The Wine Cellar, it only takes one sentence, that you can do in the moment.
Take a look and let me know what you all think. I'd love for people to use it! Or if it ends up being a niche product for just me, that's okay too, it was a lot of fun and I'm still proud of it!
